Representative Council Elections at the British University in Georgia
Elections of the Representatives Council (Senate) begin at the British University.
Board members are elected for two years. The election is open to the British University academic staff, whose involvement in the activities of the Representative Council will contribute to the development of the University and ensure the maximum protection of the interests of the academic staff.
Council members are elected by universal, direct, equal suffrage, by a majority of votes, by secret ballot. In case the candidates get the same points, all of them are included in the board, regardless of the number of announced places.
The number of seats in the Representative Council, determined by the quota of academic staff is: 5
Affiliated Academic Staff: Min. 3 places
Non-affiliated academic staff: 2 places
The following election procedures and deadlines were determined by the Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences on December 14, 2021:
Receipt of candidate documents: from December 15, 2021, to December 20, 2021.
Interview with Candidates: December 24, 2021.
The Faculty Council will listen to the candidates. At the listening, the candidate should talk about the vision for the development of the university (appropriate visual material may also be used). After the meeting, the board will reveal the winning candidates by secret ballot and announce the results.
Deadlines for appealing the results: until 15:00 on December 27, 2021.
Deadline for publication of final results: December 29, 2021.
To participate in the elections, candidates must submit the following documents:
A) Application (see Annex # 1)
B) Updated CV
C) University Development Vision (2 pages on av.).
