British University Student Wins Gender and Green Innovation Award 2025
The British University is proud to share outstanding news that places both our institution and our country in the international spotlight.
At the Gender and Green Innovation Awards 2025, held in Bishkek and co-organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and CAREC (Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation), one of our students — Maya Kobalia — represented Georgia with distinction and emerged as a winner.
A Competition of Global Scale
The awards brought together more than 200 organizations from all over the world — companies, innovators, institutions, and leaders developing breakthrough solutions in sustainability, climate resilience, and gender empowerment. Out of this global field, only 10 companies were selected as winners.
One of these winners was Microbank Crystal — the Georgian organization Maya presented and represented.
The selection criteria were rigorous and comprehensive:
innovation and originality
systemic and scalable solutions
real corporate social impact
tangible contributions to gender empowerment
advancement of green and sustainable economic development
Maya was not only an applicant — she was also personally invited as a distinguished panel speaker during the official ceremony in Bishkek, highlighting the quality of her work and the respect it earned among international experts.
A Moment of Pride for Georgia and for Our University
This success is more than a personal achievement. It is a national moment.
It shows that Georgian ideas, Georgian institutions, and Georgian leaders are not only present in global conversations — they are influencing them, competing at the highest level, and winning.

Our students do not only study theory — they create solutions, build impact, and represent Georgia on the world stage.
