Qualification Requirements for the Competition
Academic Track – Qualification Requirements
Professor
A Professor is elected for a 5-year term and must:
Hold a PhD or an equivalent academic degree;
Have at least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical experience.
Additional (University) Requirements:
Proficiency in English at an appropriate level;
Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the relevant field within the last 5 years;
Syllabus/syllabi evaluated for content quality, learning outcomes, and achievement methods;
Scientific scholarships, grants, inventions, and other professional activities; participation in scientific conferences and professional development events.
Associate Professor
An Associate Professor is elected for a 4-year term and must:
Hold a PhD or an equivalent academic degree;
Have at least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience.
Additional (University) Requirements:
Proficiency in English at an appropriate level;
Authorship/co-authorship of scientific publications in the relevant field within the last 5 years;
Syllabus/syllabi evaluated for content quality, learning outcomes, and achievement methods;
Scientific scholarships, grants, inventions, and participation in conferences and professional development activities.
Assistant Professor
An Assistant Professor is elected for a 4-year term and must:
Hold a PhD or an equivalent academic degree;
Demonstrate English language proficiency;
Submit syllabus/syllabi evaluated for content quality, learning outcomes, and achievement methods.
Professional Track – Qualification Requirements
Associate Professor (Professional Track)
Elected for a 4-year term, must:
Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent;
Have at least 10 years of practical professional experience in the field;
Demonstrate English language proficiency.
Assistant Professor (Professional Track)
Elected for a 4-year term, must:
Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent;
Have at least 6 years of practical professional experience in the field;
Demonstrate English language proficiency.
Additional Competition Requirements (Professional Track)
Associate Professor
Applicants must provide:
At least 10 years of professional experience in the field;
Evidence of participation in trainings, conferences, seminars, etc.;
List of publications published within the last 5 years;
Syllabus/syllabi evaluated for content quality and learning outcomes;
Experience teaching in English or proof of English proficiency;
Master’s degree or equivalent.
Assistant Professor
Applicants must provide:
At least 6 years of professional experience in the field;
Evidence of participation in trainings, conferences, seminars, etc.;
Syllabus/syllabi evaluated for content quality and learning outcomes;
Experience teaching in English or proof of English proficiency;
Master’s degree or equivalent.
Proof of English Language Proficiency
English proficiency is considered confirmed if the applicant submits:
a) A diploma confirming higher education completed in English;
b) Documentation confirming experience teaching a higher education program or course in English;
c) An internationally recognized certificate confirming C1 level proficiency according to CEFR;
d) A demonstration lecture conducted in English as part of the competition (in which case a language specialist will be included in the competition commission).
Documents Required for Submission
Interested candidates must submit the following documents within the established deadlines:
a) Application form, indicating the field, academic position, and selection criteria (submitted electronically);
b) Copy of ID card or Georgian passport; for foreign citizens – passport or residence permit;
c) Copy of diploma confirming qualifications; if issued abroad, documentation of recognition under Georgian law;
d) Certificate(s) confirming teaching experience at a higher education institution (if applicable);
e) CV in Georgian and English (see Appendices 3 and 4), including information on publications from the last 5 years, scholarships, grants, conferences, and professional development activities;
f) One syllabus compatible with the field (see Appendices 5 and 6);
g) One research paper that best reflects the applicant’s academic interests and experience (if available);
h) Proof of English C1 proficiency (if available);
i) Certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirming no conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and integrity;
j) Certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirming no deprivation of rights;
k) Consent to personal data processing (see Appendix 1);
l) Additional documentation confirming compliance with supplementary criteria (if applicable).
Note: By submitting documents containing personal data, applicants authorize British University to process and store this data for the current and future similar vacancies, in accordance with Georgian legislation and university regulations.
Competition Stages
The competition will be conducted in three stages:
Stage I: Review of submitted documents;
Stage II: Interview and demonstration lecture;
Stage III: Final evaluation and summary.
Additional Information
In the case of selection to an academic position, affiliation with British University LLC is desirable.
In the event of equal scores, preference will be given to candidates willing to formalize affiliation with British University LLC.

Competition announcement: 19 December 2025
Application submission period: 23 January – 30 January 2026
Stage I: 2–3 February 2026
Stage II: 4–9 February 2026
Stage III & preliminary results: no later than 10 February 2026
Appeal submission period: 10–11 February 2026
Appeal review: 12 February 2026
Final results publication: 13 February 2026
(If no appeals are submitted, preliminary results become final by 11 February 2026)
