British University Launches Groundbreaking Partnership with Supply Chain Academy

British University has announced a landmark partnership with the UK’s renowned Supply Chain Academy, marking a major step forward in its mission to deliver globally relevant education and position Georgia as a hub for advanced logistics training in the region.

This strategic collaboration brings cutting-edge supply chain education to Georgia for the first time at the university level. Through a suite of in-person and digital programmes, British University will offer specialised short courses and a pioneering Executive MBA in Supply Chain Management, designed to equip both emerging professionals and senior leaders with practical, world-class skills.

At the centre of this initiative is a commitment to close skills gaps and align academic learning with the operational realities of today’s global supply chain. The programmes will emphasise applied learning, with a strong focus on the challenges and innovations shaping modern logistics and distribution.

As part of the Executive MBA, students will have the unique opportunity to participate in an immersive visit to the Felixstowe Mega Distribution Centre (FMDC)—a state-of-the-art facility at the UK’s busiest container port. Operated by GB Global, FMDC exemplifies best practices in automation, warehousing, and supply chain excellence. This real-world exposure underscores the British University’s drive to blend theoretical knowledge with practical insight.

In parallel with the in-person programmes, British University and Supply Chain Academy are co-developing a high-quality e-learning platform, making global supply chain expertise accessible to learners across the region. The digital modules, led by Aaron Liddell, Operations & Commercial Lead at SCA, are designed to offer flexible, applied education tailored to the needs of professionals navigating a fast-evolving logistics landscape.

The partnership goes beyond academic delivery. British University and Supply Chain Academy plan to co-host sector-specific webinars, thought leadership events, and regular knowledge-sharing activities that foster an engaged professional community. These efforts aim to establish the university as a centre of excellence for supply chain learning and innovation in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

“The British University is passionate about developing future leaders and closing skills gaps in the workplace,” said Levan Gurgenidze, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. “Partnering with the leading Supply Chain Academy allows us to align with both government and industry to help improve supply chain efficiency. We’re proud to be the first university in Georgia to take this step.”

“We’re really excited to expand our mission in this region by supporting the development of future supply chain professionals,” added Alex Mortimer, Head of Business Development at Supply Chain Academy. “We’re proud to be working with the British University in Georgia as they become the first to offer university-level qualifications in supply chain—an important step forward for the sector.”

“This collaboration will help equip students and professionals with the practical knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a fast-evolving logistics environment,” said Aaron Liddell, who is leading the e-learning content design.

This transformative collaboration between British University and Supply Chain Academy is more than a new educational offering—it is a strategic investment in the region’s future workforce. By combining local delivery with international expertise and UK-based immersion, the initiative is set to redefine supply chain education across Europe and beyond.
